International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Technical Commission VII Mid-Term Symposium, Istanbul

29 September - 2 October 2014, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey

The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) is one of the biggest organization in its field. The organization is devoted to the development of international cooperation’s for the advancement of photogrammetry and remote sensing and their applications. The working group on GIS and remote sensing of the Department of Geoscience, Institute of Geography, at the University of Cologne is actively involved in the society.

In September 2014, the ISPRS Mid-term Symposium of the technical commission VII (TC VII) “Thematic processing, modeling and analysis of remotely sensed data” was held at the Istanbul technical University, Istanbul, Turkey. With the support of the Graduate School of Geosciences travel grant, Helge Aasen was able to attend the workshop and present his work on hyperspectral remote sensing of vegetation with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). His talk on “Application of a full-frame hyperspectral camera to monitor agricultural crops with UAVs” took place during the session “Information extraction from hyperspectral data” and it gave him the opportunity to discuss the results with world leading experts.

The support of the Graduate School of Geoscience at the University of Cologne for this meeting is highly appreciated.
