American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting 2014

15 - 19 December, 2014, San Francisco, USA

The Graduate School of Geoscience (GSGS) offered me the opportunity to join the 2014 AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco from 15- 19th December, 2015. The AGU Annual Meeting is the biggest international conference for geosciences taking place each year in December in San Francisco, US. It offers me a great opportunity to join nearly 24.000 earth and space scientists, educators, students, and others, and it offered all of them the opportunity to present ground-breaking research and connect with colleagues. During the conference, I had the chance to present a poster with the title Urban Heat Island Versus Air Quality – a Numerical Modelling Study for a European City within the Biogeosciences session (B13I-0328). During lively discussions regarding my poster, I could distribute my latest results to interested researchers of my field of study. Further, I have attended different sessions and had the opportunity to meet international researchers with the intention to learn from their scientific work and to use their outstanding expertise to discuss personal future research perspectives. A peer-reviewed publication will follow soon as a basic outcome of the study presented at the AGU. An abstract is available online.

I like to thank the GSGS for the financial support and I want to encourage future GSGS-members to join the American Geoscience Union and attend future Fall Meetings to make it a part of their scientific career.
