Fachtagung Energiemeteorologie

05 - 07 June 2018, Goslar, Germany

The „Fachtagung Energiemeteorologie“ is a German speaking conference with about 100 experts from power and renewable energy economy and science, and an informal atmosphere. During almost 40 oral and Poster presentations the diverse participants can discuss and exchange information on all topics concerning the impact of weather on renewable energy systems. The major focus lies on solar and wind energy systems as well as network expansion and stability. Due to the presence of the major stakeholders in the field of energy meteorology in Germany, the meeting provides not only the scientific exchange but also for networking and to establish new contacts.

My presentation to a specialist audience gave me the opportunity to present and discuss my scientific work. Furthermore, it encouraged me to interact with several scientists working on similar topics with its typical problems. Hence, we could discuss and optimize methods and approaches and will stay in contact. Through the many conversations during the conference, I gained additional contacts to ask for the acquisition of data for my dissertation project.

I cordially thank the Graduate School of Geosciences for the financial support to take part in this conference.
